Anecdote: An insane uncle of mine wanted something that he could (in theory) put four adults in, had a bed, was 4wd four-banger, *old enough to be semi-affordable*, etc. etc. etc. and was unwilling to budge on any point enough that a semi-sane choice like a 4 door S10 would have worked. MUH I4 MILAGES. So, the end story is that a Custom Cab is about the only thing that answered all his “requirements” (in theory), so I told him what to look for (very hard) and to go nuts.
Spoiler: he is still not the owner of a Perfect Small Truck (tm).
